What are the House Guidelines?
The Ronald McDonald House is a unique
facility. It is not a hotel but a communal living environment. Since 13
families are sharing living space, this house may not be an appropriate
arrangement for everyone. All guests are dependent upon previous and
future guests' cooperation in living and working together to keep our
home safe, clean and operating smoothly. We ask that all guests treat
our House as their home, including the responsibility of maintaining it.
If you have any special skills in this regard, please notify the
managers.
ALCOHOL is not permitted on our
premises. This includes the parking lot.
SMOKING is strictly prohibited in the
House. All tobacco products are strictly
prohibited. Outside smoking area is provided.
ILLEGAL DRUGS, FIREARMS, AND OTHER
WEAPONS are forbidden (no exceptions).
FOOD is permitted ONLY in the kitchen and
dining room. Please clean under
your dining table after eating, rinse dishes and put them in the
dishwasher.
The
PLAYROOM and TEENROOM close at 9:00 pm. This insures that residents who have
bedrooms overhead or close by are not disturbed.
RESIDENTS must respect the privacy and
personal property of the other residents of the House and the privacy,
property and operations of the House itself. The management reserves the
right to enter and inspect all rooms at any time at its
discretion.
DISHES, for purposes of sanitation, must
all be washed in one of the two dishwashers. PLEASE do not leave dishes
in the sinks. Dishes are to be loaded immediately into the dishwashers.
All families are asked to start dishwashers when they are full and to
unload when the cycle is finished. Guests are expected to wash their own
dishes and help keep the kitchen tidy. This is a never ending
task.
CHILDREN: Parents are required to
supervise their children at all times and are responsible for their
behavior in the House. After 10 p.m., we request that children are quiet
or in their rooms so that other families can rest.
Disruptive behavior will not be
tolerated.
All guests must wear shirts and shoes at
all times in the public areas.
A family is eligible to remain at the
House as long as their child is in active treatment at a local hospital
and
they follow all guidelines. Upon check-in you will be given a complete
copy of the Guidelines. It is necessary
for you to follow these guidelines or you may be asked to vacate the
House.
At check-out, a family is asked to leave
their room very clean for the next family.
